Multi-use £2m Green-Tech HQ Opens
Nov 30, 2015
Sutcliffe’s redevelopment of a 10-acre brownfield site for award-winning Yorkshire landscaping and forestry supply company Green-tech Ltd finished on schedule and the company’s 40 staff moved in November. The multi-use HQ complex includes offices, retail, and warehouses in an environmentally-friendly park is now home to Green-tech’s £10 million business and a showcase for its 6,000 plus product range.
Rachel Kay, managing director, Green-tech Ltd, said: “We are delighted with our choice of contractor in Sutcliffe Construction. It has been professional, conscientious and adaptable at every point.”
“The site has been incredibly well run, with an energetic and enthusiastic team of people and it has delivered at every stage of the process from quote right through to completion – most importantly it has been delivered on time. Sutcliffe has certainly taken the hassle out of this large building project and we will have no hesitation in using them for future phases.”
Designed by Lawrence Hannah architects, the project maximises use of the space to house a vast number of product lines in seven new buildings – a head-office for Green- tech, three warehouses, a single-storey office for rental and retail units in mixed styles and materials from single skin cladding to cedar cladding and traditional masonry – plus an environmentally- friendly soakaway system including drainage ponds.
The development, to be known as Rabbit Hill Park, is located between junctions 47 and 48 off the A1.
Sutcliffe has wide experience with brownfield sites and ecologically-sensitive developments. It recently completed builds on brownfield sites for Yorwaste, Lithos Consulting in Wetherby, and Crown Paints in Blackburn.
